On my test system, mx box setup 3.5 rev 2.7 which is pretty bare bones at this point, the system is indicating that the image will take up 36GB of space.
To create a system image in Windows 8, you'll start by accessing the oddly named Windows 7 File Recovery window.
Click the Advanced Options tile to access the options intended for advanced users.It can also include additional drives.When you see the Troubleshoot screen, as shown in Figure I, select the Advanced options tile.The above command tells the Windows to back up the C: drive onto the E: drive, including all critical volumes containing the systems state.In a moment, the restore operation will begin and you'll see a progress bar that keeps you apprised of the status of the restore operation.Review them and click on, start backup.Also read: Create a System Recovery Drive in Windows 10/8.

Once you do so, just click.
The image file, after some time, will be saved in the drive you selected earlier.
